Words That Inspire - Good Info For Brides

A while ago I spoke with a bride who wanted purple shoes. My good friend, hiking buddy and event coordinator extraordinaire Sherri Lucero of Planned To Perfection came up with a great find that is the subject of her blog entry "Adding Some Sass To Your Wedding Day Fashion". See what a little Christian Laboutin can do for you!

Headshots - Your Most Important Marketing Tool

Your Head shot is your most important marketing tool. An effective headshot shows your personality and conveys the message that you are someone that will be satisfying to work with. Recently I had the opportunity to work with Emily Edwards of Your Heart's Desire, one of the nicest wedding planners I know. Here's how I see my friend Emily.

A Trip To Tucson - Jessi and Taylor

I met Jessi and her family a when I did her sister Joelle's wedding and had so much fun photographing her at the wedding. An opportunity came up to photograph her with her boyfriend Taylor, so a day trip to Tucson was in order. Jessi picked the most outrageous location for the photos...and we got chased out by security with just the first shot! So we took a walk through a funky little district by the Congress Hotel. So many cool spots...

I had a blast you two! Thank you!

A Little Neworking Here, A Little There....

Last week was good networking time. First off was a trip down to Chandler for BBJ Linens Open House. Good times hanging out with The BBJ girls and letting my hair down a bit with Angie Van Daele from The Wedding Chronicle and Keith Pitts of Keith Pitts Photography. so nice to just have a drink and hang out with the fine people of my industry.

Next up was a little networking event thrown by Phoenix Bridal Show at their new facility on Cactus and Tatum (the old Mervyn's). Yummy sushi by Pangea Catering, hang-time with Diane and Greg of AZ Nights, Mark Sanchez of PME and some other really good wedding vendors....oh, and you know palm reading? I got a "lip reading"...seriously ;-)

Such Romance - Unique Marriage Proposals

The other day I was on facebook (alright you got me...when am I NOT on facebook) and I saw something so cute I had to share.

Our very own Cicely Rocha-Miller was featured in an article on unique proposals. Which leads me to ask....How are you going to propose? Did you think about having a photographer there? What cool photos would that be?

See how Joe proposed by clicking here ;-)

Achieving Goals and Shifting Them

Saddle Sore and Heart Happy....I finally got to fulfill what has become an "adulthood" goal, going horseback riding. I used to ride as a kid and it was one of things that I loved and left behind. It's taken 30 years for me to get back in the saddle it was so good. I am going to make sure that I go regularly now that I have a stable so close to my home.

Sometimes we make goals that are not achievable in the manner we would like so we adapt. I really wanted to ride a mule down the Grand Canyon and there is a pre-requisite that has turned my attention away from this particular goal. So, I found a similar one to trade for this one. I am preparing my body to go on a horseback camping trip through Canyon de Chelly. There are so many other ways to enjoy the Grand Canyon and this is a unique way to feed my equine desires ;-)

I am anticipating that this will be one of my more far reaching goals since it will take quite a lot of training to have the stamina to ride 5-6 hours a day, so will keep you posted as I make baby steps to this particular bigger goal.
